- 1980 honda CB 750C 19K miles (basket case) Titled in NYS
I bought the bike not running in 2002, after purchasing a new choke
cable
cleaning out the carbs, changing the battery, oil, etc. The engine
ran
but the battery would not hold a charge, I even rode it around the
block
before the battery died. I bought a new stator from
honda in 2004 after the stator part of the alternator tested bad.
After installing the stator the starter motor locked up.
I lost my work space in 2006 and the bike has been outdoors since.
A starter motor rebuild kit goes for $24 on ebay for this bike.
I will let the bike go for $100 (without the new stator) which i paid
close to
$400 for from a dealership, still have the receipt.
I will settle for $300 for everything including the die hard charger/battery
tender
a new oil filter, shop manual and the starter clutch kit.
Good project / entry level bike. The MSS rider course in Brookhaven
Lab is taught on this exact bike because they are very reliable.
